About this Site
This site is a current gallery of art and web development by Caroline C. Blaker (.carolinecblaker.) - visual artist, standardista, and creative programmer.
This site is the work portfolio, information hub, conceptual playground, and internet loudspeaker of artist and web developer Caroline C. Blaker (.carolinecblaker.). It was designed and built by .carolinecblaker. and is under constant revision for expansion and refinement.
This is the fourth or fifth redesign of .carolinecblaker.com, yet only the third to hit the servers. After several tries with other cms and gallery apps that just didn't go the distance, the site has been on its current platform, Expressionengine, since the late summer of 2008 and there are no plans to move from it. I've been so happy with EE's capabilities that I've built nearly every site I've worked on in this content management system as I know that my clients will be as happy with it as I am. From my experience developing custom add-ons for the platform, I am able to troubleshoot just about anything in a very short span of time, but hardly ever have to as it always works as expected.
This site has been designed with the latest web standard compliance. It may not work correctly in some defective browsers, namely IE6. While I will do what I can to ensure that the design works evenly across all platforms, design considerations will not be compromised for antiquated web browsers on their way to extinction. If things look off to you, it might be time to upgrade to Firefox or IE8, Avant, or Opera.
Special thanks to MIS, Inc for getting me off on the right foot with Expressionengine. Thanks also to Scott Granneman for being a distant, yet valuable resource and teacher of web practices. Thanks to all my friends and family for your feedback and participation in my efforts. But most of all, thanks to Travis who dragged me down to Albuquerque.
